Every user who creates or publishes an advertisement on iGo Sri Lanka assumes complete legal, civil, and financial responsibility for its contents. iGo does not create, endorse, or verify user listings. As an advertiser, you warrant that your ad is accurate, truthful, non-infringing, and compliant with all Sri Lankan laws. iGo is not responsible for claims, disputes, or liabilities arising from any user-submitted advertisement.
How to Create Your Ad
Posting an ad on iGo takes less than 2 minutes. Here's exactly what to do:
Click "+ Post Ads"
Find the green "+ Post Ads" button in the top navigation bar. You must be logged in to your iGo account. If you don't have one, signing up is free and takes 30 seconds.
Select Your Category
Choose the category that best matches your item: Vehicles, Electronics, Property, Fashion, Luxury, Home & Services, or General. Each category unlocks specific specification fields tailored to that type of listing.
Upload Real Photos
Add at least 1 photo of your actual item (3+ recommended). Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF. Stock images, screenshots, or photos copied from other listings are strictly prohibited.
Write Your Title & Description
Create a clear title (e.g. "Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB Black — Excellent Condition"). In the description, include all relevant details: brand, model, condition, year, any defects, and why you're selling.
Complete Specifications
Fill in all category-specific fields — engine size for vehicles, screen size for phones, bedroom count for property, etc. Complete specs give buyers confidence and reduce unnecessary back-and-forth messages.
Set Your Price (LKR)
Enter the true asking price in Sri Lankan Rupees. The price must reflect what you actually expect to receive. Placeholder prices (LKR 1, LKR 9999) are not permitted and will result in ad rejection.
Choose Your District
Select the district where the item is physically located from all 25 available Sri Lankan districts. This directly determines whether buyers in your area can discover your listing.
Submit for Review
Click "Post Ad" to submit. Our automated system reviews your listing for compliance. Most ads go live within seconds. If flagged, you'll be notified with the reason and can resubmit after editing.
Core Advertising Rules
Original Photos Only
Upload actual photos of the item in your possession. Stock images or photos taken from other sellers are not permitted and will result in immediate rejection.
Accurate Descriptions
Disclose any scratches, defects, or repairs honestly. Accurate descriptions build trust and reduce deal cancellations after meetups.
Fair & Clear Pricing
Post the true asking price in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). Misleading prices like LKR 1 or LKR 1234 are prohibited and considered spam.
Correct Category & Location
Select the appropriate category and the district where the item is physically located for buyers to discover your listing easily.
One Listing Per Item
Do not post duplicate ads for the same item. Posting the same listing multiple times is considered spam and may result in account suspension.
Owner or Authorised Seller
You must own the item you are listing or have explicit authorisation to sell it. Listing items you do not own is strictly prohibited.
Honest Condition Labeling
Mark items accurately as New, Used, or Refurbished. Do not label a used item as new to inflate its perceived value.
No Contact Details in Photos
Do not embed phone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, or social media handles within your listing photos. Use iGo's built-in messaging and profile system.
Prohibited Advertisements
Policy violations will result in immediate removal of the ad, permanent account termination, and potential reporting to Sri Lankan law enforcement authorities.

Ads with clear, high-quality photos receive up to 5x more views and inquiries. Here's how to get the best shots:
Lighting
Shoot in natural daylight near a window or outdoors. Avoid dark rooms and harsh flash shadows that make items look worse than they are.
Multiple Angles
Take photos from front, back, both sides, and close-up detail shots. For electronics, include screenshots of the device. For vehicles, include the dashboard.
Show Defects Honestly
If there's a scratch, crack, or dent — photograph it clearly. Buyers who see defects upfront are far more likely to complete the deal without negotiating lower on meetup.
Clean Background
Place the item on a plain surface — a white wall, clean floor, or plain cloth. Cluttered backgrounds make items look less premium.
Clean the Item First
Wipe down electronics, clean vehicles, iron clothing. A clean item photographs 10x better and commands a higher price from buyers.
Include Scale Reference
For small items, place a coin or common object next to the item so buyers can judge real size. For furniture, include a room-in-context shot.
